Spell Woman Inafune Art by CadmiumRED Spell Woman Inafune Art by CadmiumRED

This Robot Master initially was meant to be a witch-type; after many thoughts and careful planning, I instead thought it was best that she was to be a circus acrobat-type that could perform tricks and magic to impress the people (hint the baton and feminine qualities).

//I think she looks cool...

It looks a bit TOO like Splash Woman facially. But,then again, even Inafune re-uses the same robot master faces over. I mean, several of them have the Ice Man/Needle Man face design, others have the Mega Man 1 face design, that half of the ones from that game had. So I cant argue about the face, but the design, other than being something hugely obvious and clichéd as a fan idea, it hasn't been used in a game yet, so you get a pass there too. I love how well Inafune's style is replicated here though, so a huge pass, just for that.

Like the heels, but I'm just going to have to rubber-stamp everyone else and say she needs more originality.

You know bro, I think you could use a little originality! I read your thing about "having difficulties spriting", and all I have to say is: Keep trying!
I suck(ed?) at spriting, that never stopped me! And now I have 10 Robot Masters under my belt! But from what I see here your main advantage is that you have serious talent in art! Yes, I noticed the extreme similarity to Splash Woman, but the parts you didn't use a reference for look great too! I can do Inafune style, but not as well as you!
You see, I'm trying to actually start off on good terms with you like Zexion did. I'm not one to just go "O FUCK LOL U R A CYBERBULLY!"
So, um... yeah. I hope you don't view this as offensive.

Surely you have to understand that some of my original designs were done a LONG time ago, and I've tried spriting them as well to where they're easy to work with, and being as complicated as they were, it was practically impossible to do so. They had more colors on them, they had parts that would add extra movements that weren't necessary, and they had qualities to them that didn't really add up for their attack patterns or concepts. I had to change them to make their sprite forms actually be workable. Also, it's not like CAPCOM hasn't used parts from older Robot Masters onto newer ones before. And another thing, this is just my first set, so cut me a freaking break people, jesus.

I totally agree with you. I mean, take a look at Magma Man from Mega Man 9 for example. He looks like Needle Man and Fire Man fused together!

Face and Helmet are too Splashwoman, those need work, other than that, good work

Did you see his old version of this robot?
Muuuuuuch better, it was actually original, instead of being splashwoman recolor with legs and hair
sebamkfan Featured By Owner May 23, 2011  Hobbyist Interface Designer
I agree, it was waaay cooler
