so apparently it's been verified at serebii.net.  Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon are set to be the very last Pokemon games to be released on the 3DS.  Generation 8 will be coming to debut on the Nintendo Switch.  consider me disappointed, but at least this means people will finally get a Pokemon game on a home console as they've been begging for years for one.  looks like i will be investing in a Nintendo Switch in the future.
